Fibertel provides a fully comprehensive range of products from Tools to Connectors and Fittings to Cables - for both Copper and Fiber Optic, for Internal, Underground and Overhead Telecom/Broadband Network Installations.
In the case of Overhead Cable installed on Wooden, Steel, Concrete and Composite Telegraph Poles, Fibertel is able to provide Hardware, also known as Pole Furniture for all Pole Types - which is designed for simple Installation, easy access for subsequent repairs, and later Network Expansion.
Telecom Infrastructure Standards and Guidelines naturally vary from one Country to the next, and even by type of location, within a single Country, for example City or Countryside and between Home and Industrial Premises -Fibertel's Pole Furniture has therefore by necessity been designed and developed to meet a multitude of Telecoms requirements, and to be multi-purpose wherever this has been possible.
There are two basic methods for Installing Hardware/Pole Furniture, and these involve either Direct Drilling/Bolting or Pole Banding and then Fitting the Hardware to the Steel Banding - on to the Pole. The decision on which method to be used is dependent on the type of Pole, the level of stress to be applied to the fittings, and the environmental conditions and engineering/customer rules/guidelines to which the pole is subject.
The Precise method of Mounting the Hardware/Pole Furniture will therefore include not limited:
1. Traditional - Wooden Poles
In the case of Wooden Poles, and the Installation of Overhead Copper Cables, before the Introduction of Fiber Optic FTTH/FTTP Networks, the bolting on to these Poles of "Rings Polehead Dropwire", and/or similar Hardware had been the Traditional and preferred method of Anchoring Overhead Cable Fittings. Rings Polehead Dropwire are therefore still available for older (mostly Copper) Networks and for those companies which require an alternative and simple method to Anchor their Fittings.
Rings Polehead Dropwire are 240mm Steel Rings fixed by a 16mm Bolt, to which Clamps and Deadend Grips may be connected - Below is an example of a British Telecom Wooden Pole, fitted with a Rings Polehead Dropwire supporting Hooks, Clamps and Deadends - which in turn are used to support Overhead Copper and Fiber Optic Cables.
2. FTTH/FTTP Installations - All Pole Types
In the case of most new installations the increasingly preferred method for installing Telecoms Hardware is to Install Stainless-Steel Banding to the Pole, and to then fix the Pole Fittings to this Banding.
Fibertel's Banding Tool TJ045A1045, below, provides the Engineer with a method to easily install Stainless-Steel Banding up to 24mm Wide and 1.2mm Thick, on to all Telephone Poles.
Fibertel's most popular Stainless-Steel AISI430 Banding pictured below, supplied in Plastic Dispensers, are 10mm, and 20mm, which are secured with Standard or Reinforced Buckles - to be ordered separately.
Alternately Fibertel provides Pole Clamp Round TJ06A1009 and Pole Clamp Oval TJ06A1011 which are also easy to install, and avoid the need for a Banding Tool or in fact any Tooling - These items are pictured below: -
Fibertel's Stainless-Steel Pole Clamps, which incorporate Self-tightening Screw Mechanisms, can also be viewed on Page 42 of Fibertel's Catalogue by clicking on the link below: -

In the case of Steel, Concrete and Composite Telephone Poles - the above Steel Bandings and/or Pole Clamps provide the easiest and preferred Hardware Fixing Methods. Unless of course these Poles are pre-drilled to provide Non Banded Fittings -
3. Hardware/Pole Furniture Anchoring
In the case of most modern-day Overhead Cable Installations, in which it is decided not to install Rings Polehead Dropwire, an alternative Anchoring system is required.
The Most popular of these Anchors are: -
3.1 Fibertel Cross Arm Angled Steel Bar Anchors - 5, 8,11 & 13 Hole.
This Angled Anchoring Plate - 200 x 40 x 40mm with 40mm Spaces between each Hole - is the most popular Anchor for installing parallel Aerial Cables.
And it has been designed for use with the Fibertel UPB Universal Pole and Extension Bracket, and for receiving a Drop Anchoring Plate to facilitate the installation of DropFiber Cables.
3.2 Fibertel Cross Arm 8 Hole Steel Plate.
The Cross Arm 8 Hole Steel Plate is a Multi-Purpose Galvanised Steel Anchoring Point which enables:-
a. The Terminating of up to 8 Overhead Cables.
b. The Anchoring of up to 6 Overhead Cables
c. The Suspension of up to 4 Overhead Cables
d. The Installation of 16 x Fiber Cable Drops.
e. The Mounting of small DropFiber Boxes
f. The Mounting of 2 Drop Anchoring Plates
g. The Mounting of 2 Angled Cross-Arm Brackets 5/39 for Suspension Clamps 30/34
h. The Mounting of Brackets for 2/12 Fiber Optical Boxes
3.3 Fibertel UPB - Universal Pole Bracket.
This Aluminium Universal Pole Bracket (UPB) provides multi-purpose functions, including mounting the above Cross-Arm Steel Plates. This UPB provides an Anchor for : -
a. Mounting Cross-Arm Plates.
b. A Connection for Stay Wires
c. A Connection to enable Cable to be Pulley unreeled.
d. A Connection for installing Dead Ends.
e. A Multi-purpose Junction
f. Angled Passageways.
g. DropFiber Connections
4. Fixing Bolts
As an alternative to Steel Banding - The Pole Coupling Bolt pictured below is often used - in the Installation of the above 5, 8 or 11 Hole Cross Arm Steel Plates and of course other Pole Funiture items.
Pole Coupling Bolt
These items are supplied with both Curved and Flat Plates and are available in sizes from 14 & 16mm diameter, and in lengths from 225 to 350mm and with threads from 145 - 100mm.
A further item used to secure Pole Furniture is the Fibertel Screws Coach 3" x 3/8th - also known as Lag Bolts.
Screws Coach 3" x 3/8"
In the case of Wooden Poles, the Traditional method to secure Pole Steps Pole No1 - to enable the subsequent climbing of Poles for subsequent maintenance, repairs and for new installations - has been to secure each Steps Pole No1 with 3 x Screws Coach 3" x 3/8".
