Structure
Use special optical fiber tools to peel off the protective layer and coating layer of optical cable, and reserve the length of bare fiber of 30-40mm.
Open the cover plate, open the cover of the collects fiber box, Open the small plate and place the optical fiber in the corresponding optical fiber guide groove, then close the small plate.
Close the cover plate (make sure that the optical fiber is horizontal before closing the cover plate)
Push the cleaver slider to the back end at one time to complete the cutting.
Open the cover plate, the cleaver slider will automatically return to the front end, pen the small plate and take out the optical fiber. Do not let the end of optical fiber touch any object to avoid damaging the cutting end face.
After cutting, the waste fiber in the collects fiber box is uniformly disposed.
Normal use and maintenance
Must ensure that the rubber presser foot and the fiber guide groove are clear (no dust and debris). Keep the fiber contact surfaces clean by using alcohol cotton or clothing during the process of cleaving.
1. Loosen the fixing screws of the collects fiber box and take down the collects fiber box.
2. Change the angle of blade
If cleaving quality drops (usually cleave 1000 to 5000 times), then blade may be worn. Please follow the step to adjust the blade angle.
a) Loosen the blade fixing screw with a slotted screw driver.
b) Rotate blade to the next scale number (generally there are 16 or 24 two types of blade).
c) Hold the side-face of blade and relock the screw to complete the adjustment.
Be careful:
When changing the blade position (rotating blade), do not rotate the blade directly by hands.
Do not use metal tools (tweezers, etc.) to turn the blade. If metal tools are used, the blade will be damaged.
3. Adjust the height of blade:
Under normal circumstances, the height of blade has no need for adjustment, once an exception occurs, if confirming that it is the problem of blade, then deal with according to the following methods:
a) loosen two fixing screws and height fixing screw with a screwdriver;
b) Use the hexagon wrench at the bottom of the cleaver to turn the jack screw a little as required (clockwise is the height adjustment direction to raise the blade height, and counterclockwise is the direction to lower the blade height);
c) Adjust the blade height a little bit beyond the rubber pad (keep the two rubber pads horizontal view)
d) Cut the optical fiber while adjusting and put it into the fusion splicer to check the angle;
e) After adjustment, tighten the height fixing screw and two fixing screw
Be careful:
Please pay attention not to adjust blade height too high. Otherwise, the pillow block will be damaged and the fiber end face would be damaged.
4. Replace the Blade
When the blade circulation is used, and you cannot improve the cleaving quality by changing the angle of blade and adjusting the height of stud, the blade needs to be replaced.
1) Remove the blade fixing screw
2) Place the cleaver at 90°with the blade upward, open the blade cover, carefully clamp both sides of the blade with tweezers, gently lift the blade to remove and put it in place (pay attention not to let the blade touch other parts):
